Working With Wikis

wiki - from the Hawaiian word for quickly
Is anybody viewing this wiki? The visitor count at the bottom of the page isn't changing.
Log in is you stop by so we'll know that somebody is taking a look! Thanks.
Why work with Wikis?
Wikis provide a number of advantages over email, blogs and network drive files.
Our notes will give some of the details.
We've created this Wiki with 3 purposes in mind.
First - to provide you an opportunity to contribute to a wiki with no fear. We're collecting travel memories, or dreams!! Add information on a place you've been or search to see whether someone has already been to a destination and has given advice on traveling there. You can't make a mistake!! We'll give you a few guidelines and you are ready to go.
Second - to organize notes and links that sum up the research we have done on Wikis and how wikis are being used in libraries. If you find additional library wikis, please, add them to the list. Comment on how the libraries are using wikis and how you might want to use one in your library. Get a discussion going about how your library's wiki might look.
Third - to let you see how we've used this wiki to collaborate on the poster session. The wiki was used to organize material, design the poster board and for most of the 'meetings' we had. Add information and comments you might have.
Please continue to play with this wiki from home. You can use any of the following userIDs and passwords to login. Multiple people can use the same userID at the same time, but there may be a limit so we've made more than one. You can also use your own userID and password that you may have already created for PBWiki. If you use your own userID and password, you'll need to request access.
cclsuser1 - books4you
cclsuser2 - cds4you
cclsuser3 - movies4you
cclsuser4 - programs4you
cclsuser5 - help4you
You are encouraged (urged!!) to investigate everywhere, try anything and contribute.
The more we play - the more we learn!!
Aloha! Ruth and Beverly
